aviation is worthless. drones have made planes obsolete. you can make one single plane for 150 million, or you can make 60,000 drones for the same price or you can make 15,000 smart drones that use AI for that price instead. drones that are capable of flying around on their own, finding enemies on their own and taking out targets without any humans needed. drones that have swarm capability. drones that recharge themselves at recharge stations. aviation is dead. you can make drones that are capable of carrying anything a plane can carry, including their munitions.

I wonder how long before the next batch of excuses for delays in F16s and refund tin of certain weapons . The latest out of North Korea will have Sbske Sullivan crspping his pants . The excuses will be being drafted as we speak . Can’t wait to hear what they come up with this time . Skulduggery will be being worked on way harder than finding ways to help Ukraine snake Sullivan and CIA will be working flat out to find a way to shaft Ukraine without taking too much of the blame .

There is one bright spot for Russia that Ukraine, as of yet, has no answer for. Glide bombs. Very cheap conversion of Soviet era dumb bombs to high tech stand off smart weapons. Guessing that is one of the highest priority things that Ukraine needs to figure out how to counter measure. Basement built command centers and drone assembly and operations centers, which were relatively immune to artillery are now quite vulnerable. Hard weapon to counter and destroy, and Russia can make/convert them very cheaply and quickly. F16s could help push back bobers out of range, but they are a long way off time wise.

Given that Russia is heavily reliant on rail to transport men, fuel, equipment, and munitions, I am surprised that Ukraine was not been using drones to target and destroy Russian locomotive engines. They move slow and can't maneuver.

I'm not defending the Russians but one of the largest beaches America is Pensacola and there is a huge Naval air station right there. So beaches and military airfields do go together - but you have to be an idiot to frequent such a beach during a war. Note- it seemed to work out fine in Apocalypse now. Surf's Up!

I'm inclined to believe the lancet was a lucky fluke, with the Ukrainian drone in the right place at the right time. Now, if they repeat the trick a couple of times, I'll change my mind and agree it's a strategy.

@Ukrainematters , i'd imagine getting an AA drone into position to actually take out a lancet thats traveling at full speed isnt easy , Would it be possible for the fvp to trigger a small cloud of metal powder in the path of the drone , charged to stick to a lancet or other drone , that would make the lancett light up on radar and allow it to be easily tracked from the ground
